Under Construction

"There is so much going on. On May 21st I'm flying to Texas. Then I'm driving with my
pregnant sister from Texas to CT. On Wednesday I'll be rallying at the capitol to make
sure rape victims in CT don't have to become pregnant. My internship is going to last for
as long as I'm in college. This summer I will party with my girls, plan baby showers, study
the poetry of women, move the ECSU Women's Center into a new building. I havent
chewed off my nails in 3 months. I saw CHICAGO on broadway for 5 dollars. ...My dog got
fat, and old, but i love her.
I feel blessed, Chaotic, crazy busy, consumed by
school, but blessed."

Beloved to many
I miss everything about my baby sister.  I miss everything she said, every mannerism.
I miss the funny things she did as a small child and the extraordinary things she did as
a young woman.  I miss her blond hair, how completely different she was from me, and
how she always told me it was going to be okay.  I treasure everything she ever said to
me.  Her presence was a gift to me, and I would like to celebrate her life here.  If you
would like to add anything at any time, please contact me.

A Tribute and a Celebration

Megan worked at a local
daycare and loved her job.
She loved to spend time with
"her kids."  She was so proud
of the kids and developed
relationships with them.
From this experience, she
became a mentor to at least
two remarkable young
ladies.
Snuggles!  Our family has had the family dog since
1993, so Megan grew up with Sunuggles.   Whenever
Megan took Snuggles to the groomer, she would
come back with a pink bow in her hair (I don't
know why the dog has such long hair and a bow in
this photo - it must have stayed in a long time!)
.
Megan and her eyelash curler!  I used to
tease her because she had so many of them,
and she always seemed to have one with her.
Here, she has pulled one out while in a
friend's car waiting to pick up another
friend.
Megan and I were about 10
years apart in age, although
we were the only siblings in
the family.  Here, I am
holding my new baby sister
in the hospital.  I called her
my baby sister all her life,
and I continue to do so!  She
had dark hair like mine
when she was a baby, but it
turned blond as she grew.
Megan loved her girls from "WA '05" -
Woodstock Academy class of '05.   She spent
her first year of college in Massachusetts at a
school she disliked, but the promise of
coming home to Woodstock and her WA '05
friends kept her spirits up.   Megan was
blessed with amazing friends!

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
...

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that is keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Megan was a great fan of Lucille Ball
and had lots of I Love Lucy
memorabilia and collectors' items.
Her family and oldest friends will
always think of her whenever we see an
episode or any reference to Lucille
Ball.   Whenever an episode comes on
television,  I remember Megan's
warmth and humor and the joy of her
presence.
Megan and I watching mom cut the
pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving
Megan as a child.
